Thanksgiving

As this week rounds up, the exciting feeling of coming home for Thanksgiving is a little bit different this year. On one hand, coming home for Thanksgiving from college means seeing family and friends, enjoying time together around a table full of heartwarming food, and there are plenty of laughs to be passed around. On the other, COVID-19 isn’t taking the weekend off for holiday, and neither is the health of many of my family and friends.

I’ll be embarking on my journey back to Fargo on Wednesday afternoon, which typically takes about 3 to 4 hours. I’ll be thinking about seeing my pup run through my legs and jump around as soon as I hop in the car. Before the journey back, I plan on getting tested one more time for COVID, just to make sure my high-risk family members feel safe during a time where only joy should be felt.

My close family has plans for thanksgiving on Thursday with dinner beginning around 1. For the rest of the weekend, I intend to spend most of my time with family, hanging around the house and trying to learn how to make Lefse with my grandma (should be interesting lol). No black Friday shopping this year!
